Vibrating into Expression
Unless you tell me what you’re hearing, I cannot be certain of what I’m actually saying. – Robert Maidment
Wow, deep and so true. One of the exercises in yoga teacher training was to lead and voice record a class, then play the recording and follow along. After I got over hearing my own voice, I learned quite a bit about myself through the experience.
My teacher often said, ‘the quality of my life is the quality of my communication.’ I also believe that our words have the power of life and death. Needless to say, I have become very interested in how I choose to use my words and language. One of the reasons I am very intentional about not over drinking, as I become a full blown angry Polish woman for no reason. I do have to say that the more I peal the layers off and heal, the uncontrollable impulse to black out and release has vanished. If you have been following along you know a bit about me and my history by now so you know that this is huge given my ancestry.
Here is a gentle yoga flow, a sequence designed by Anodea Judith from her Chakra Yoga book that I paired with the reading of Eastern Body Western Mind. It is a flow that will bring balance to your vishuddha chakra. A slow moving practice that targets the upper body, shoulder area, and neck. Enjoy!
Over to you! How do you balance your throat chakra? My favorite exercise is reading out loud!
Cheers!
